Autumn / winter the best time to consider your bathroom refurbishment?

2 November 2015

It’s that time of year, the clocks have gone back and we’re now greeted with increasingly cold mornings and fast approaching dark evenings with the majority of our daylight hours spent indoors working.

Causing havoc and upset to your daily routine with the disturbance of a home improvement project may be the last thing on your mind however you may be surprised to know that there is no better time to consider a bathroom refurbishment than the limbo of Autumn-Winter season and here’s why:

1)

Tired, dark and dingy bathrooms never feel overly inviting however in the summer months when daylight hours are in abundance and temperatures reach 18+ degree’s putting up and coping with a bleak bathroom setting is a much easier task.

Cold flooring, tired fixtures and dull decoration are hardly going to contribute to you having the relaxing bath time experience you crave, and most importantly need, at this time of year. Running noses, aching muscles and heavy heads are rife during this seasonal change making the requirement of a long hot soak an important one.

2)

On average you spend 3 times longer in the bathroom during autumn / winter (soak season) as opposed to spring / summer (shower season) which is why it’s secondly important to ensure you surround yourself in an environment that meets your requirements.

3)

Treat yourself! Christmas is just around the corner so why not treat yourself and get the bathroom you deserve and show off your relaxing sanctuary to all and sundry who come to visit this festive season – you deserve it after all.

4)

You take everything in to account. It’s true, planning or designing a bathroom refurbishment in summer leads to speedy decisions that don’t take into consideration how or what your bathroom needs when the seasons change.

Designing your new bathroom in winter makes you consider things such as underfloor heating, which of course can be turned off in summer, baths that retain heat, multi-functional radiators for heating the room and towels, ventilation to combat condensation and colour schemes / decoration that release a warm ambiance all year round.

If you’re toying with the idea of refurbishing your bathroom this winter we advise speaking with your local bathroom specialist. They should be ready and armed to ask you a series of questions making your new bathroom one you can enjoy all year round.
