Mr & Mrs Best, Crossgates, Leeds: thank you for creating the bath / shower room of our dreams

7 May 2015

Problem:

Mr & Mrs Best had a traditional, avocado green, bathroom, which in the mid 70’s was the height of fashion. The good sized 3 piece suite was out dated and needed completely ripping out and refitting with more modern designs. The Best family, requested that the bathroom remain a multi-functional space whereby it must facilitate both bath and shower to accommodate the busy home. A further request was the addition of storage space.

Solution:

Taking into consideration all of Mr & Mrs Bests’ wants and needs More Bathrooms surveyor & designer, Nigel Dawson, began working on the families master piece. Previously the bathroom achieved a multi-functional space by combining an over bath/shower mixer, Nigel and the Best’s decided to separate these two fixtures introducing a separate bath and walk-in shower area in one room. This in itself brought further consideration of space as to not over pack and cram fixtures making the once large space appear tight and claustrophobic. Nigel suggested that to incorporate the remaining elements and not compromising on space to install a vanity unit which would house the basin, back to wall toilet pan and of course the all-important storage.

Outcome:

Time spent at the beginning of Mr & Mrs Bests’ journey with Nigel & More Bathrooms turned out to be time extremely well spent. The discussions and ironing out of the couple’s requirements allowed us to really understand their wants, needs and dreams. As a designer Nigel performed in every avenue delivering on every aspect. The result, a light and airy, multi-functional modern / contemporary bathroom & shower room inclusive of storage solutions that makes the best use of possible space and one of our personal favourites.
