Mr & Mrs Clarke, Bramley, Leeds, West Yorkshire - a keen eye for detail created space and enhanced the atheistic appeal

1 April 2016

Problem:

Mr & Mrs Clarke had an all-white, fully tiled, 4 piece bathroom suite consisting of a wall-to-wall enclosed bath, pedestal basin, closed couple toilet and high step D shaped shower enclosure. The suite in itself was in good working order albeit a little tired and rough around the edges as a result of time spent in situ.

Having gone for an all-white option meant the suite wasn’t overly dated however the finishing touches, like the gold trimmed shower enclosure was starting to show its years. Wanting to update and modernise their bathroom Mr & Mrs Clarke were also keen to explore slightly more accessible, yet equally stylish, solutions in order the future proof their investment.

Solution:

Intrigued to understand what Mr & Mrs Clarke both wanted and needed their renovation works to achieve Nigel Dawson, More Bathrooms Surveyor & Designer took the time to really understand the reasons for works before offering his advice on a solution.

It became clear rather quickly that a 4 piece suite was preferred as a result of Mrs Clarke wanting the facilities to enjoy a long relaxing soak while Mr Clarke needed the accessibility of a shower. This in itself highlighted one of the primary reasons for the works – the high rise step on the existing shower was becoming an area of concern following un-stability while entering & exiting the enclosure on one leg. Aside from overcoming this problematic area the couple also wanted a solution that was modern in look and feel.

Outcome:

Keen to meet and exceed the couples dreams and aspirations Nigel proposed a minimalistically modern 4 piece bathroom suite inclusive of a large D shaped shower enclosure with a low rise step. The size of the enclosure was key in future proofing the renovation as it was proposed with the idea of having enough space to not only manoeuvre but also incorporate additional safety elements if and when required. Furthermore Nigel designed the suite with a keen eye for detail, relocating key fixtures, to create space and enhance the atheistic appeal.
