Mr & Mrs Cockett, Birkenshaw, Bradford, West Yorkshire - A bespoke design, tailored to their individual wants & needs left the couple with the small sanctuary they deserved

15 March 2016

Problem:

Mr & Mrs Cockett had a small, square shaped, dated, 3 piece bathroom suite consisting of a wall-to-wall enclosed bath, WC and basin. The room was fully tiled in a stained effect mid blue tile which complimented the white fixtures and light wood effect laminate flooring. Although the suite was in full working order it had become tired through use and dated in design.

Solution:

Paul Tarbard, More Bathrooms Surveyor & Designer, spoke with the couple in detail to determine what they wanted their bathroom refurbishment project to achieve. Aside from modernising the look and feel of the suite the couple made it clear they wanted to make the most of the available space if and where possible.

With this Paul began designing the room, weighing up his presentation options with an aim of achieving exactly what the couple wanted. Using design trickery Paul incorporated 3 interior design tips in an attempt to create space, or should we say the illusion of space, which when coupled with calculated fixture choice the once claustraphic space was transformed into a petite retreat.

Outcome:

Using the square space to his advantage Paul created an infinite bathroom with the use of colour, a minimalistic & clean pale green, to all walls, floors and ceilings. Paul also added depth by decorating one statement wall in a similar colour but with a detailed pattern effect. Finally Paul suggested a neon, also known as ‘coffin’ shaped whirl pool bath in order to free up precious floor space, providing additional manoeuvrability. The result? A bespoke design, tailored to their individual wants & needs left Mr & Mrs Cockett with the small sanctuary they deserved.

what mr & mrs cockett said about more bathrooms:

"A new bathroom to enjoy. Had complete bathroom refit looks very smart. The workmanship is of high quality. The area was left clean and tidy at the end of each day. The fitter kept us informed on progress throughout the work was friendly and professional. Could not have hoped for a better service.”
