Background
After deciding it was time to freshen up her existing en-suite, the homeowner got in touch with More Bathrooms through the Book a Free Design Appointment section of our website. We then arranged for Senior Designer Simon to visit her Holmfirth home, survey the existing bathroom and spend time discussing what she wanted to achieve from the renovation.
While the existing en-suite was functional, the homeowner wanted to give the room a complete refresh, creating something that felt more contemporary, comfortable and considered for everyday use.
Rather than overcomplicating the space, the brief focused on creating a modern en-suite bathroom that felt clean and inviting, with practical storage and carefully chosen finishes helping everything come together.
With these priorities in mind, Simon began developing an en-suite bathroom design that would make the most of the available footprint while introducing a completely fresh look and feel.

Bathroom Design
Senior Designer Simon worked closely with the homeowner to develop a contemporary en-suite design that would refresh the room while making the available space work harder.
The shower area forms a key part of the new layout, providing a comfortable showering space while maintaining an open feel throughout the en-suite. Designed as a four-piece en-suite, the room features a WC and basin incorporated into a run of fitted furniture, neatly concealing the pipework and providing a clean, streamlined finish, alongside a separate bath and wet floor shower. A glass partition subtly separates the bath and showering area from the sanitaryware and vanity space, helping to define each area without closing off the room. Clean lines and contemporary fittings complete the design, keeping the overall look simple and uncluttered while helping the en-suite feel calm and spacious rather than overcrowded.
Practical storage was also carefully considered within the design. The vanity furniture provides useful space for everyday bathroom essentials, helping keep surfaces clear while giving the basin area a more finished and coordinated appearance.

The neutral color palette helps brighten the room, while the combination of contrasting textures introduces warmth and interest without overwhelming the compact space. The result is a contemporary bathroom design that feels balanced, fresh and easy to live with.
Lighting provides the finishing touch, with the illuminated mirror adding both practical task lighting and a softer glow when required. Alongside the carefully selected brassware and sanitaryware, these smaller details help elevate the finished en-suite and give the room a polished, considered feel.
Every element has been chosen to work together rather than compete for attention, creating a modern 4 piece en-suiterefurb that feels stylish, practical and effortlessly put together.

Installation
Following the design stage, the project moved seamlessly into installation.
The en-suite renovation was completed by Main Fitter Shaun, whose experience and attention to detail ensured Simon's design was carefully brought to life. From the plumbing and preparation work through to fitting the shower, sanitaryware and final finishing touches, each stage was completed with care and precision.
Throughout the renovation, Installation Surveyor Joe worked closely with Shaun and the homeowner to ensure everything progressed smoothly. From the initial technical planning through to completion, Joe helped coordinate the different stages of the project and ensured the finished en-suite remained true to the agreed design.
This fully managed approach meant the homeowner could enjoy the transformation with one experienced team overseeing the project from design through to installation.

Project Outcome
The completed project is a fresh, contemporary en-suite bathroom that feels brighter, more refined and better suited to everyday use.
By keeping the design simple and considered, the new layout makes excellent use of the available space without feeling overcrowded. Practical storage keeps everyday essentials organised, while the modern shower area, illuminated mirror and coordinated finishes bring a completely new look to the room.
What began as a desire to simply freshen up the existing en-suite has resulted in a beautifully finished modern en-suite bathroom in combining thoughtful design, practical features and expert installation to create a space that can be enjoyed every day.
