Background & Brief

Following a successful bathroom renovation for a family member, our client was recommended More Bathrooms when looking to make their existing bathroom more practical for the years ahead.

The main priority was to replace the existing bath with an easy access shower, creating a more accessible space that would better support everyday needs, both now and in the future.

Already happy with many elements of the bathroom, our client was keen to retain as much of the existing space as possible, avoiding unnecessary disruption. However, with the room's dimensions and layout presenting some challenges, they were unsure how an easy access shower could be incorporated without compromising on space or appearance.

Looking for professional guidance, our client wanted a thoughtfully designed solution that would balance practicality, accessibility and contemporary style.

Design

Working closely with our client, Senior Designer Nigel developed a bathroom design centred around practicality, future-proofing and contemporary style.

The existing bath was replaced with a generous easy access shower, providing a more accessible showering area while making effective use of the available floor space. A large clear glass screen was introduced to define the shower without visually closing off the room, helping natural light continue to travel throughout the space.

Within the shower, a built-in seat provides an additional practical feature, while the handheld shower and easy-to-reach controls create a flexible showering set-up.

Rather than allowing the practical requirements to dictate the appearance of the room, each feature was carefully incorporated into the overall design, resulting in a bathroom that feels modern and considered while being better suited to our client's future needs.

Finishes & Features

A neutral palette was chosen to keep the bathroom feeling light, calm and spacious. Large stone-effect wall panels create a seamless finish throughout the room while also providing a practical, easy-to-maintain surface around the showering area.

Contrasting black details add definition to the softer neutral finishes. A purpose-built boxed-in shelf runs along the wall behind the WC and vanity, cleverly concealing the pipework from both fixtures while providing additional surface space. This thoughtful design detail creates a clean, flush finish that not only enhances the bathroom’s contemporary appearance but also makes everyday cleaning and maintenance easier.

A contemporary dark vanity basin unit provides practical bathroom storage, complementing the purpose-built boxing and maintaining the room’s streamlined appearance. Alongside this, a wall-hung WC with a concealed cistern further enhances the clean, uncluttered finish, while a large statement mirror above the vanity helps reflect light around the space.

Further practical features include a recessed shower niche for toiletries and built-in shower seating, both thoughtfully incorporated to make everyday use more comfortable and convenient. A black heated towel rail completes the design, coordinating with the chosen fixtures and fittings to create a cohesive, contemporary finish throughout.

Installation

With the design finalised and our client happy with the proposed plans, the order was placed and the project moved into the next stage. Bathroom Installation Surveyor Jack then carried out a detailed pre-installation survey, checking the finer technical details to ensure the agreed design could be successfully brought to life within the existing space.

From there, the renovation was fully project-managed by More Bathrooms, with Lead Fitter Louis overseeing the main bathroom installation.

From fitting the new easy access shower and sanitaryware through to the wall finishes, storage solutions and finishing touches, every element was carefully coordinated to ensure a smooth installation and a high-quality finish.

Working respectfully within our client's home, Louis kept her informed throughout the installation while maintaining a tidy and meticulous approach to the work something our client later highlighted in her five-star Trustpilot review.

Customer Review

Following completion of her new bathroom, our client left More Bathrooms a five-star Trustpilot review, describing the renovation as a “first class experience.”

She was particularly complimentary of Lead Fitter Louis, praising his punctuality, meticulous workmanship and tidy approach throughout the installation. She also appreciated being kept updated on the progress of the renovation at every stage. Just some of the many reasons our customers choose us.

Most importantly, our client was delighted with the quality of her completed bathroom, describing the finished result as “fantastic” and saying she would highly recommend the team.

The Result

The completed Leeds easy access shower has transformed the existing bathroom into a stylish, practical space designed with the future in mind.

Replacing the bath with a easy access shower has created a more accessible showering area, while the built-in seating, open glass screen and carefully considered layout provide additional practicality without compromising the overall appearance of the room.

The combination of neutral stone-effect finishes and coordinating black features gives the bathroom a modern look, while clever storage solutions and purpose-built boxing to conceal the pipework create a clean, flush finish that makes effective use of the available space.
