Background

After booking a free design appointment through our website, the homeowners got in touch looking to update their existing en-suite bathroom in Harrogate. We then arranged an appointment to visit their home, look at the space, and talk through their ideas in more detail. What initially started as plans to replace the shower soon evolved into a full en-suite bathroom renovation once they began exploring the possibilities for the space with our team.

Like many smaller en-suites, the room felt limited in both layout and atmosphere. The homeowners wanted a contemporary en-suite bathroom that felt lighter, more spacious and easier to use day to day, while still bringing in a sense of luxury and elegance. They were particularly drawn to warm brassware finishes and wanted the final result to feel calm, refined and beautifully balanced without overwhelming the compact footprint of the room.

Design & Layout

Senior Designer Angela carefully reworked the layout to create a small en-suite bathroom design that feels significantly more open and functional while making the best possible use of the available space.

One of the standout features of this modern en-suite renovation is the floating vanity unit. By exposing more of the floor beneath, the wall-hung design instantly helps the room feel larger and more open, while also making the space easier to clean and maintain

To further maximise the sense of space, the walls were half tiled rather than fully tiled throughout. This subtle design decision keeps the room feeling lighter and less enclosed while still adding texture, durability and practicality where it’s needed most. Large marble-effect wall tiles introduce softness and movement into the design, helping reflect light around the room and enhancing the overall feeling of openness.

The brushed brass details bring warmth and elegance throughout the en-suite bathroom. From the brass rainfall shower and matching brassware through to the statement heated towel rail, the metallic finishes elevate the space and create a boutique hotel feel within the home.

Underfoot, the wood-effect flooring introduces warmth and natural texture, softening the clean contemporary lines and helping the room feel welcoming and easy to live with. Combined with the shower enclosure and minimalist fittings, the completed project feels luxurious, practical and timeless all at once.

Installation

The installation was completed by Lead Fitter Ianatoliijs, with Installation Surveyor Joe overseeing the project from the design to complete installation to ensure everything ran smoothly throughout the en-suite bathroom refurbishment.

Every aspect of the installation was completed with precision and care, from the detailed tiling work and brass fittings through to the floating vanity installation and walk-in shower enclosure.
