En-suite Bathroom Case Study | Featherstone | West Yorkshire

Published: 20 March 2020

Problem:

Mr & Mrs Barnaby’s outdated three piece en-suite bathroom consisted of a toilet, basin and quadrant shower room enclosure. The low sloped ceiling made for an awkward shaped room meaning they had limited showering and storage space.

Wanting to modernise the existing space Mr & Mrs Barnaby hoped to convert the shower room into a wet room to enjoy a less restrictive showering experience. They also wanted to discuss their options for maximising the available space by changing access into the room, converting the inward opening door to outward opening.

Solution:

Upon visiting our Leeds bathroom showroom the couple decided to book a design appointment, for More Bathrooms Senior Designer Simon to visit their home and discuss their en-suite bathroom requirements in more detail.

Taking on board the couples wants and needs Simon created a space efficient, modern, wet room design that consisted of contemporary grey wall boards, non-slip vinyl flooring, a heated towel rail and a large mirror to help bounce light around the room.

Following the home visit Mr & Mrs Barnaby revisited our Leeds bathroom showroom, to finalise any remaining products choices and pick a selection of finishing touches. With Simon’s assistance the couple decided to include a modern glass flipper screen to conceal water within the wet area but keep the shower space feeling open. In addition to this they also chose to incorporate a closed coupled toilet and a run of slim line fitted furniture to house the semi-recessed basin and provide ample bathroom storage. Furthermore entry into the room was changed to allow for an outward opening door which created space and easier access to key fixtures.

Outcome:

Mr & Mrs Barnaby’s en-suite bathroom was transformed into a modern wet room with contemporary wall and floor coverings and practical sanitary ware choices. Additional space was created as a result of the open design concept, access into the room and aided by the installation of a slim line fitted furniture, which also offered storage for bathroom amenities.

What Mr & Mrs Barnaby said about More Bathrooms:

Love our new wet room. The work was done while we were away and the house on our return was left clean and tidy.

The service from start to finish has been first class and I would recommend you to everyone I know. Thank you for your professional service throughout the whole process.
