Family Bathroom Case Study | Leeds | West Yorkshire

Published: 12 November 2014

Problem:

Mr & Mrs Howson had a pink bathroom suite that dated back to the 1970’s, with an old-fashioned vanity unit and a shower over the bath. The walls were partially tiled with old-style six inch tiles. These were in very poor condition, with the rest of the walls being wallpapered with tile effect paper. The ceiling was artexed, in line with fashion at the time of the original installation. Their bathroom was in desperate need of a face lift.

Solution:

Mr & Mrs Howson's bathroom was not the largest, but our designers put together plans to really bring the bathroom up to date. The layout of the bathroom was completely changed, with the bath being moved to fit neatly underneath the window. This allowed maximum use of the available space, in which a run of fitted bathroom furniture, providing much needed storage, was installed, as well as a stylish corner entry shower cubicle. Coordinating wall and floor tiles, with a mosaic border on the walls, created a fitting backdrop. The ceiling was re-plastered and inset spot lights installed, to really show off the new bathroom in it's best light.

Outcome:

By maximizing all of the available space, it was possible to replace a traditional three piece bathroom suite with a bath, shower cubicle and fitted bathroom furniture. The room was beautifully finished with the clever use of towel racks, allowing the Howson’s to add colour and contrast to what is now a bathroom to be proud of.

What mr & mrs Howsons said about More Bathrooms:

"We asked what would happen if we had any problems as the job was getting done - the reply: ‘we don’t have problems we have solutions’. Absolutely fantastic company to deal with, always on time, quality of work - immaculate and very trust worthy people"
