Walk-In Shower Case Study | Leeds | West Yorkshire

Published: 20 August 2015

Problem:

Mr & Mrs Britton had a soon to be dated 3 piece cream bathroom suite inclusive of low rise toilet, pedestal basin and bath with shower mixer combination. The room was half tiled with vinyl flooring finished with purple & lilac decoration.

The room was a great size with minimal clutter however the couple found they rarely – ‘once every blue moon’ – actually took the time to have a relaxing soak. As a result they wanted to look into the possibility of converting this room into a standalone shower room with new WC, basin & general decoration to compliment the fixture change.

Solution:

More Bathrooms surveyor & designer Nigel Dawson understood the couples request and set about presenting the various shower options, styles, ranges and designs available to them. The initial survey took about addressing the features and benefits of converting the bathroom to incorporate a wet floor shower, walk-in shower, wet room or traditional shower enclosure and what would be most suitable and preferable to their personal wants and needs.

Outcome:

The decision was made to install on a walk-in shower option – the couple loved the space it provided in relation to movement whilst showering and the fact it was enclosed with a single glass screen making it look and feel elegant and stylish.

To further compliment this statement feature Mr & Mrs Britton requested the shower area be fully tiled using white tiles with a singular strip of various shades of brown & cream tiles on the side and back wall. A large shower head & mixer was also installed with a mirror and toiletry shelf at the far end.

The rest of the room was finished with a wall hung vanity basin unit, back to wall close coupled toilet, fresh and clean looking off grey slip resistant vinyl and cream / off white decoration. The room looked totally transformed with great attention to detail given to the shower area which was, without a doubt, the main statement feature in the room if not the entire home.

what mr & mrs britton said about more bathrooms:

“Thank you so much for the work carried out so efficiently and for the gift. Please also pass on our appreciation to the fitters, Glen & Steve for their professionalism, reliability and co-operation – it was greatly appreciated.”
