Small Bathroom Case Study | Leeds | West Yorkshire

Published: 4 May 2016

Problem:

Mr & Mrs Wilson had a small and dated 3 piece bathroom suite consisting of a petite vanity basin unit, a back-to-wall oyster shell WC and a wall-to-wall enclosed bath with over bath shower mixer and glass screen. The room was half tiled in a white ceramic with floral boarder to 3 of the 4 walls and a detailed full ceramic tile effect enclosing the bathing area. Although the room was in fully working order it had become tired in both look and feel and was more than ready for a modern refurbishment.

Solution:

Given the size of the room More Bathrooms Surveyor & Designer, Nigel Dawson, was keen to understand the functionality of the existing suite along with the couples personal wants and needs before offering his thoughts for a refurbishment.

Following detailed discussions it soon became clear that the couple were more than happy with the current set up, that being a bath and over shower mixer, therefore a straight forward rip out and refit, not needing to relocate any of the key fixtures, was to be the desired solution.

Outcome:

The devil was in the detail when it comes to this kind of refurbishment. The craftsmanship, tiling selection and fixture choice were the key areas of concentration, transforming this once tired bathroom into a modern day, luxurious, bathing experience. Making the most of available space Nigel suggested crisp white fixture’s including a newly designed enclosed bath with chrome over bath shower mixer and blue smoked glass screen, a closed couple, back-to-wall WC and a modern vanity basin unit. The room was finished in a ditto grey, textured tile, full effect to the bathing area and half tiled to the remaining 3 walls – the finished suite was light, airy and minimalistically classy.
