Traditional Bathroom Case Study | Leeds | West Yorkshire

Published: 19 August 2016

Problem:

Mr & Mrs Spry had a dated and sparse 4 piece bathroom suite consisting of a curved corner bath, separate D shaped shower enclosure, vanity basin unit and back-to-wall WC. The room was half tiled / half decorated with a detailed boarder to the wall coverings. The entire suite was flash white with egg shell colouring introduced to the decorated area of the wall and a dark blue applied to the floor. Due to the size of the room it was spacious, light and bright however needed renovating to bring it up to date with current designs and sanitary ware fixtures.

Solution:

More Bathrooms Surveyor & Designer, Andy Keir, met the couple at their property to discuss their wants, needs and aspirations with regards to updating their existing suite. Through conversation it was highlighted they were fans of the more traditional look and feel however didn’t want to age their bathroom in the process of re-designing it. With this Andy proposed a suite with slight traditional-esk fixtures coupled with more modern statement features.

Outcome:

A well-executed traditionally modern 4 piece bathroom suite. The finished suite was a perfect example of how easy it is to completely transform a room without making unnecessarily large alterations. The brand new bathroom continued to house a large corner bath which, due to design and installation, appeared to have a ‘free standing’ dimenna (a traditional bathroom must), a large corner shower enclosure and a matching traditionally style pedestal basin and low rise WC. The room was fully tiled in a ditto grey giving it a real classic feel with darker grey vinyl applied to the floor adding great depth and warmth to the room.

what mr & mrs spry said about more bathrooms:

“Excellent workmanship, excellent quality and excellent care taken.

Many thanks for a wonderful bathroom! All help and dealings we have had with all staff have been friendly, professional and helpful. It was lovely to come back from holiday to a beautiful new bathroom. I would happily use you again in the future and strongly recommend you to others!”
