Wet Room Case Study | Harrogate | North Yorkshire

Published: 15 February 2018

Problem:

Mr & Mrs Townend had a very well looked after 80’s styled bathroom that had grown tired and as a result needed a little bit of TLC.

Tiled in black and white contrast colouring and a detailed boarder to separate, the existing suite featured an end-to-end enclosed bath with overhead shower, WC, bidet and a vanity basin unit of its day.

Finished off with gold fixtures and fittings the existing space also housed an airing cupboard which would need to be taken into account during the design stage of the complete refurbishment works.

Solution:

Having visited our Harrogate bathroom showroom both Mr & Mrs Townend had a good idea of what they were wanting to achieve. Opting for a shower room solution a survey was arranged in order discuss the works in more detail and provide a setting where a product specific design and layout proposal could be given, along with additional help and advice.

Meeting the couple on site More Bathrooms Senior Surveyor & Designer, Simon Grant, discussed all possible shower room eventualities with them until a workable solution for all parties was achieved. With design precision being the key to this bath to shower room conversion, multi-skilled installer Asim had to incorporate some additional installation requirements in order to ensure the design would work.

Outcome:

Extending the nib of the airing cupboard wall while matching the door with the fitted furniture, meant a spacious wet room styled shower solution would fit perfectly into the available space.

Accompanying this with a semi-recessed back-to-wall run of furniture to house the WC and basin, while concealing the cistern and pipework, added to the flush finish that oozed sophistication, modern and maintenance free bathing.

what mr & mrs townend said about more bathrooms:

“Our installation tradesman was called Asim who was very pleasant and made an excellent job and sorted out all the problems from a design point of view.”
