Wet Room Case Study | Leeds | West Yorkshire

Published: 14 March 2018

Problem:

Mr & Mrs Nelson had a very small and dated, although in great working order and condition, bathroom that consisted of a WC, pedestal basin, enclosed bath with overhead shower and separate bidet function. Fully tiled the suite also featured various types of storage units / options which housed the numerous bathing products and cosmetics.

Although in need of an update, coupled with a dash of TLC, the main reason for the renovation works was due to the bath becoming increasingly difficult to manage. In terms of safely getting in and out, the struggle meant that the bath was no longer used to bathe with the overhead shower becoming the main wash facility, which, due to location, was a risk infused task in itself.

Solution:

Having become increasingly aware of why they wanted to complete the renovation works both Mr & Mrs Nelson were happy for More Bathrooms Surveyor & Designer, Garry, to lead with the solution / product renovation specifications as long as provisions were met to re-install and design the new room with a bidet in mind.

With accessibility and style being key, along with the inclusive design and installation of a WC, bidet and basin, Garry had his work cut out to meet all of the couples design and fixture aims within available space. Focusing solely on the problem at hand, in the first instance, Garry proposed the idea of converting the existing bathroom into a future proofed and stylish wet room, ensuring complete accessibility could be achieved, while creating the much needed space for their specific fixture requirements.

Outcome:

A small, cramped and inaccessible 4 piece bathroom suite was transformed into a light, warm and airy wet room. With a keen eye for design, relocation of specific fixture choices and a concentrated nod towards complimentary colour choices in order to provide the illusion of space the small space was a breath of fresh air.

Featuring the beloved bidet, comfort height WC, wall hung vanity basin unit (also known as modular furniture for storage purposes) the newly renovated wet room was an accessible, maintenance free, thanks to the inclusion of wall boards, delight.

What mr & mrs nelson said about more bathrooms:

“Just want to say thank you again for a very professional job well done. My wife and I are extremely happy with the workmanship - you have a very professional workman in Glen and he takes great pride in his work.”
