Easy Access Shower Room And En-Suite Case Study | Harrogate | North Yorkshire

Published: 24 April 2018

Problem:

Mr & Mrs Johnson initially contacted More Bathrooms with regards to renovating their house bathroom which consisted of a bath, bidet, basin, WC and shower enclosure. Half tiled with a matching space grey suite the existing bathroom was in excellent working order, having clearly been very well looked after, however wanting to future proof the design with a modern easy access solution had brought them to our door.

Solution:

Having met the couple on site to discuss the refurbishment works in more detail, and survey the existing suite, it soon became clear to More Bathrooms Surveyor & Designer, Garry that an area of concern for the social home was that one bathroom was problematic when family came to visit.

Generally open to ideas, and the feasibility of creating an en-suite bathroom Mr & Mrs Johnson decided to convert the main bathroom into a wet room inclusive of a wall hung basin and run of fitted furniture, which would house the WC and conceal all pipework.

Secondary to this the couple also decided to adopt the creation of an en-suite off the master bedroom, which would form the basis of a purpose built shower room having agreed to minor internal building works and the installation of dividing walls, which would separate the en-suite and master bedroom.

Outcome:

With such a big job there was a lot of work done by the multi-skilled installer, Steve, behind the scenes to ensure a well-executed design and meticulous installation. Consideration was given towards the undeniable increase in water consumption whereby Garry proposed increasing the capacity with the installation of two digital showers, one for each room, which would ensure good pressure outlet however busy the home got.

Absolutely over the moon with the finished shower room renovation and en-suite creation both Mr & Mrs Johnson were thrilled with Garry’s design and the way in which the installation was project managed with a collaborative approach to ensuring quality by the surveyor and operations department.

what mr & mrs johnson said about more bathrooms:

“Full marks to More Bathrooms who have recently completed a major bathroom conversion for us plus the installation of an additional en-suite in an adjacent bedroom.

Their installer, Steve, proved to be a master of most of the skills required and adequately managed the attendance of other tradesmen at the appropriate times. He kept us informed of progress and problems on a daily basis and paid great attention to doing the work without disruption or unnecessary alterations to our house.

The works were completed within the projected time scale of five weeks and budgeted costs were achieved. We have full confidence in recommending More Bathrooms for similar projects elsewhere.”
