Wet Room Case Study | Leeds | West Yorkshire

Published: 11 July 2018

Problem:

Mr & Mrs Barrett had a tired, 80’s styled, Indian ivory Michelangelo 4-piece suite that consisted of a WC, bidet, pedestal basin and enclosed bath with overhead shower.

Featuring a scattered floral tile on the wall the existing suite was situated in a pre-built extension whereby the roof was sloped, making a large space difficult to work with given one third of the room you were unable to stand up straight in.

Solution:

Having downloaded an in-house designed More Bathrooms information guide in the first instance it was evident the couple were looking for expert advice and industry knowledge. Having subsequently booked a survey appointment online More Bathrooms Surveyor & Designer, Simon, met the couple on site to discuss their wants, needs, ideas and requirements in more detail.

Deciding a core aim of the project would be to incorporate some form of standalone shower solution both Mr & Mrs Barrett were unable to visualise how or where in the room this would work. Discussing the requirements in detail the couple were happy to leave Simon to come up with a functional design that included all key elements – storage, separate bath and a standalone shower solution.

Outcome:

Having given the overall design and layout some serious consideration, and as a result of wanting to work with the available space, including the area under the sloped roof, rather than against it Simon came up with a design that nobody else could offer.

What was once a tired and poorly designed bathroom was transformed into a stunningly modern, 4-piece bath and shower room solution, that included all the key elements as a result of manipulating the available space.

The finished transformation featured a wet floor shower, corner enclosed bath, closed coupled WC, a wall-hung modular basin unit and a purpose built bespoke storage unit. Fully tiled in the wet area and half tiled on the remaining walls the awkwardly shaped bathroom was now the statement room in the home.

what mr & mrs barrett said about more bathrooms:

“Very pleased with our new bathroom. We had a complete bathroom refit, which has transformed a cold dingy room into a lovely comfortable modern bathroom. Our fitter, Steve, was excellent!”
