Wet Room Case Study | Harrogate | North Yorkshire

Published: 24 July 2018

Problem:

Mr & Mrs Rozday were existing customers of Charms Bathrooms of Harrogate, a business that was acquired by Passmore Group, home of More Bathrooms, More Ability and More Build mid-2017.

Wanting to renovate their large en-suite bathroom the existing, 5-piece, Michel Angelo whisper peach suite consisted of a bath, separate shower enclosure, bidet, WC and a double vanity basin unit. With certain elements of the en-suite no longer in use the couple were wanting to update the existing tired suite with a view to making the most of the available space.

Solution:

Although Mr & Mrs Rozday wanted a professional design hand coupled with a full service installation they were aware of what they wanted the bathroom renovation to achieve. With a view to making the best use of the large space More Bathrooms Surveyor & Designer, Simon, met the couple at their property to discuss their wants, needs, desires and ideas in more detail.

Having lived with the en-suite for over 15 years, and having access to another main bathroom in the property, the couple were forthcoming in the knowledge that they no longer required, or wanted, a bidet, bath or double vanity unit. With a vision of showering grandeur for the en-suite, and a request to retain some storage, it was then over to Simon to design a solution that met all the couple’s requirements in a well-planned and well thought out renovation.

Outcome:

A tired and over accommodating 5 piece en-suite was transformed into a spacious, light and bright wet floor shower solution.

Making the room feel wider a design-led decision was made to utilise the ‘small walls’ for fixtures, freeing up the window space and central area of the suite.

With a glass screen wet floor shower enclosure at one end of the room and a run of fitted furniture housing the basin and WC at the other, a large mirror was installed over the furniture to encourage light to reflect through the window and bounce around the room, making it feel bigger and more open. Fully tiled in a beige tone the neutral colour pallet that was applied further complimented the space creating design.

what mr & mrs rozday said about more bathrooms:

“Appreciated being updated by the fitter and given choices where to put switches, placing hooks, toilet roll holder, fan position etc. Also changed shower pump to meet our requirements.”
