Modern Bathroom Case Study | Shipley | West Yorkshire

Published: 9 January 2019

Problem:

Mr & Mrs Coverdale contacted More Bathrooms, part of the Passmore Group, with a view to modernising both their main bathroom and master en-suite. Two very well looked after and exceptionally maintained traditionally styled colonial suites both the bathroom and en-suite had started to show small tell-tale signs that the time had come to consider renovating the existing suites.

Solution:

Very open minded and happy to allow for More Bathrooms Surveyor & Designer, Simon, to lead the renovation discussions Mr & Mrs Coverdale had few requirements that they were wanting to achieve; a larger showering area in the master en-suite and if at all possible a free standing bath in the main bathroom.

With space being an issue in the en-suite, due to the ceiling height, a number of clever design principles, coupled with astute product choices resulted in a modern master en-suite that made the best use of available space thanks to the creation of a walk-in wet floor shower. Similarly, and in order to incorporate the much desired free standing bath, a model was sourced whereby the tub was smaller in size than average however due to the ‘thin walls’ design was deceptive in giving the user more than ample space to bathe.

Outcome:

With a clever and consistent design applied across both rooms the finished bathroom and en-suite shower room achieved all of Mr & Mrs Coverdale’s wants and needs. Complementing the deceptive free standing bath in the main bathroom Simon matched this with a fine ceramic oval basin that sat on top of a two drawer vanity unit and pulled the room together with the Roca Inspira WC and finished with large calacatta marble tiles to the floor and walls.

In the master en-suite, and an outcome of incorporating the larger shower area in the form of a wet floor shower, a similar approach to choosing a deceptive vanity basin unit was applied and resulted in the installation of the sapphire ceramic wall hung washbasin from Laufen. Fully tiled in the beige earth bone with feature wall in the shower area the modern master en-suite was finished with the incorporation of the wall hung Laufen pro WC.

What mr & mrs coverdale said about more bathrooms:

“We are thrilled with the work done in our bathroom and shower room. The workmanship was faultless and we had excellent customer service throughout the project. Thank you.”
