Modern Bathroom Case Study | Harrogate | North Yorkshire

Published: 26 February 2019

Problem:

Ms Lewis had a small 80’s styled bathroom that consisted of a bath with overhead shower, basin with pedestal and a low level WC.

Fully tiled in a scattered floral design the existing small bathroom featured light wood laminate to the floor and, considering its age, was in very good working order, albeit a little tired in design.

Solution:

Wanting to modernise a small and tired design, making it more functional and concealed, Ms Lewis was happy to let More Bathrooms Surveyor & Designer, Andy guide the initial design consultations based on discussions at the site survey.

Due to the size of the existing space it was decided that not much could be done with the overall layout, especially considering the renovation was to consist of a like for like update in terms of preferred fixtures and fittings. With this is mind Andy truly had his work cut out if he wanted to deliver the WOW factor and had to strongly consider what he could incorporate to add considerable value to the renovation.

Outcome:

Deciding that the best way to achieve a modern small bathroom design was to orchestrate a clean and minimalistic look and feel, Andy designed the renovation with function, maintenance and concealment in mind.

Incorporating a run of semi-recessed fitted furniture for the WC and basin Andy was able to hide all the services which delivered a flush and tidy finish. Enclosing the bath with purpose built bulk head a continuous worktop was applied, further delivering the clean lines appeal. Fully tiled in ditto grey the small bathroom was finished with matching stone fronts to the furniture which delivered a light and bright modern design.

What Ms Lewis said about More Bathrooms:

“The renovation was stress free. Mario worked incredibly hard and the new bathroom has exceeded my expectations - thank you!”
