Family Bathroom Case Study | Leeds | West Yorkshire

Published: 3 July 2019

Problem:

Mr & Mrs Mathers had moved into their new home a year or two previous as a result of wanting to downsize and the main house bathroom was the last room to renovate on their list. A very traditional concept the tulip styled suite was ornate in design and featured a bath, WC and basin. Half tiled with a floral boarder and wood effect dado rail the outdated suite had seen better days and was in need of a complete redesign and rethink.

Solution:

Having visited our Harrogate Bathroom Showroom in the first instance both Mr & Mrs Mathers had a good idea of what they wanted the refurbishment to achieve. With a handful of product preferences following their showroom visit it was now the turn of More Bathrooms Surveyor & Designer, Garry, to visit their property and turn their dream bathroom into a reality.

Admiring the modern characteristics of a grey colour scheme, wanting to maximise the use of the bath / shower area and ideally adding some furniture into the renovation Mr & Mrs Mathers gave Garry free rein to come up with a concept that would deliver on all their key requirements.

Outcome:

A tired traditional bathroom was transformed into a meticulously modern suite that achieved all the customers’ key requirements. Maximising the bathing area, Garry proposed a P-shaped concept that would facilitate a more spacious bath shower experience. With a slightly longer wall than bath it was decided to create ceiling height box work at the far end of the bath which would feature some bespoke niches for storage and the shower mixer controls.

With regards to incorporating furniture, Garry sourced a run of slim line fitted furniture that not only housed the basin in a semi recessed setting but also facilitated a back to wall WC with concealed cistern, hiding all pipework, providing storage and offering a maintenance free finish.

Finishing off the suite, Garry suggested incorporating the grey colour scheme through the inclusion of three light grey walls and one dark statement wall adding both height and depth to the room.

What Mr & Mrs Mathers said about more bathrooms:

“Overall pleasant experience. All staff nice and polite. Good product and standard of work. Would willingly recommend More Bathrooms to friends and family.”
