Mordern Bathroom Case Study | Leeds | West Yorkshire
Published: 8 August 2019
Problem:
Mr & Mrs Spencer had a matching 1980’s white bathroom suite and separate WC that was in great working order albeit a little dated. With marble simulated tiles that featured a decorative motif panel to the walls the two rooms were consistent and clean in design. Featuring a pedestal basin and an over shower bath enclosed behind wooden paneling the main bathroom also featured an airing cupboard which would have to be taken in to consideration during the refurbishment.
Solution:
Wanting to keep both rooms separate the brief given to More Bathrooms Surveyor and Designer, Garry, was that the couple wanted to achieve a modern renovation that endorsed a consistent design. Due to space, and the location of the airing cupboard, little could be done in the main bathroom with regards to relocation of fixtures and fittings. With that said, Garry did propose moving the basin to the adjacent wall to improve access in and out of the shower bath which would remain in the same location.
Focusing on achieving a maintenance free finish the basin was wall hung to aid cleaning with the WC in the adjoining room boxed off up to the height of the window sill to conceal all pipework and service while providing a flush and modern finish.
Outcome:
A combination of black, white and grey colour tones offered a neutral and contemporary concept which transformed the existing suite in to a modern bathroom design. Utilising wall hung fixtures and concealing pipework and services created a minimal and clean line concept that delivered what Mr & Mrs Spencer wanted the works to achieve. Fully wall boarded in the bath area with the remaining walls half tiled in the bathroom and WC, anti-slip vinyl was applied to the floor which offered a complimentary grey tone that finished off the suite flawlessly.
What Mr & Mrs Spencer said about More Bathrooms:
“Really pleased with the quality Bathroom and WC we now have, unbelievable compared to what we had previously. Fantastic fitter, expert in everything he had to do and very clean caring about existing furnishings.”
