Easy Access Shower | Mirfield | More Bathrooms

Published: 27 September 2022

Problem

Dr. Cowan’s bathroom was dated and as time had gone by, the bathroom had become more difficult for Dr. Cowan to use. The existing bathroom consisted of a bath, basin, and toilet. Another feature of the existing bathroom design there was an old airing cupboard with a cylinder, that was taking up a lot of space within the bathroom.

Dr Cowan wanted to refurbish his bathroom, to make it suitable for his needs and explore his options for including a shower solution making the overall room easier to use.

Design Solution

Dr. Cowan started to research which companies would be able to fulfill his needs and incorporate his requirements as part of the full design and installation service. Aware of More Bathrooms, Dr. Cowan visited our Mirfield Bathroom Showroom, to seek further help and advice, gather ideas, and book a free design appointment.

Senior Designer Julie was allocated to visit Dr. Cowan’s home, survey the existing bathroom and discuss in detail his requirements and design ideas.

Wanting to install a shower, for better accessibility, Dr. Cowan also wanted to see if he could retain the bath as part of the new bathroom design. He was also open to ideas if there was a better solution for his requirements.

Taking his ideas and requirements into consideration, Julie used her extensive design knowledge to create a new bathroom design for Dr. Cowan. The new design was a 4 piece bathroom consisting of an easy-access shower, bath, basin, and toilet. The airing cupboard and the cylinder were removed to allow space for both bath and easy access shower, as per Dr. Cowan’s request.

Delighted with the process so far, and with an early design concept agreed along with an indication of cost, Dr. Cowan was happy to progress to the next stage and make an appointment to visit our Leeds Bathroom Showroom whereby he would be presented with detailed CAD images and have the opportunity to iron out the finer details.

During the showroom appointment, Julie assisted Dr. Cowan in helping him choose the finishing touches for his new bathroom while simultaneously updating his quotation. Thrilled with the presented design solution, chosen finishing touches, and project cost Dr. Cowan proceeded to place an order with us.

Easy Access Shower Installation

Dr. Cowan’s easy-access shower installation was fit by our multi-skilled fitter Chris. The whole bathroom was completely transformed, and the existing bath, airing cupboard, and other bathroom fixtures were all removed.

The layout of the new bathroom was changed, and a large walk-in easy-access shower was installed along with a beautiful gold overhead shower, bespoke Corian bench, and a glass flipper screen to separate the shower and bath units.

With white and gold finishing touches throughout, a tall, wall-hung, towel radiator was fit opposite the easy access shower and, as part of the new luxury bathroom design, the bath was encased with complimentary tiles with a matching wall-hung vanity basin unit and WC.

Safety features such as non-slip vinyl flooring were laid across the entire bathroom, as well as grab rails on the inside of the new shower and bath. To match the non-slip vinyl flooring and to keep the gold and white colour scheme consistent throughout, the room was fully tiled in beige tiles.

Outcome

Dr. Cowan’s dated bathroom was completely transformed into an easy-access shower room with separate bath and several discreet safety features. Gold and white finishing touches were a consistent feature throughout the bathroom design.
