Bathroom and Cloakroom Refurbishment | Leeds | More Bathrooms
Published: 6 May 2025
Renovation Brief
Mr. and Mrs. Swallow booked a free design appointment online for an extensive multi-room refurbishment project in their Leeds home. Their vision included the full renovation of the main bathroom and downstairs cloakroom, alongside an essential boiler update. Central to their bathroom goals was the desire for a separate shower area, which required a thoughtful reconfiguration of the existing space.
The removal of an outdated cylinder cupboard—which previously dominated the bathroom footprint—along with the blocking of its adjoining hallway door, unlocked additional space. This layout transformation provided the opportunity to deliver on the couple’s ambition for both a bath and a generous shower enclosure within the same room.
Bathroom Design
Senior Designer Simon expertly reorganised the bathroom layout to optimise flow and functionality. A luxurious double-ended bath was installed wall-to-wall beneath the rear window, nestled into a custom-built plinth for a sleek, integrated appearance.

The repositioning of the WC required innovative design thinking—its back-to-wall configuration was achieved with cleverly designed boxing to conceal the soil pipe seamlessly.

The newly freed-up space accommodated a striking 1200mm shower enclosure, using the frameless Momentum door system to maintain a light and open feel. A Marbond slate-effect shower tray echoed the tones of the new concrete-effect flooring, providing cohesion and contemporary flair.
On the opposite wall, a wall-hung Boston Concrete vanity unit completed the suite, delivering modern functionality with bold design appeal.

For wall finishes, half-height cladding was chosen in Zest white marble-effect shower panels, offering a stylish grout-free solution. The subtle grey veining in the wall boards tied in beautifully with the flooring and furniture, while the upper walls were painted to create contrast and a homely finish.
Cloakroom Refurbishment
Downstairs, the cloakroom also received a stylish upgrade. A compact cloakroom vanity unit was installed to maximise space and add storage. Fixtures were modernised throughout, while hallway flooring was replaced as part of the broader renovation, ensuring a cohesive flow between the newly updated rooms.
