Renovation Brief

Existing clients of More Bathrooms, Mr & Mrs Kearney had entrusted us with the transformation of three bathrooms in the early 2000s. Over two decades later, they returned seeking an update to their main house bathroom, which had begun to show signs of wear. The existing layout featured a shower over the bath—functional at the time but now falling short of their evolving needs.

With a focus on creating a space that delivered both relaxation and luxury, the Kearney’s were clear on two essentials: a separate, spacious shower and a freestanding bath—particularly for their son, who enjoys regular soaks. Storage was also a priority, but not at the cost of style.

Luxury Bathroom Design

Senior Designer Julie took on the project, bringing her experience and thoughtful creativity to the brief. Her proposal was centred around introducing a wet room-style shower area. This not only maximised available space but also enhanced the bathroom’s open, spa-like feel. A recessed niche within the shower wall was suggested to provide practical storage without clutter.

To streamline the look further, Julie proposed relocating the WC along the same wall and concealing the cistern within bespoke boxing. This clever reconfiguration opened up a generous area beneath the window—perfect for installing a luxurious freestanding bath as a visual and functional centrepiece.

Brushed brass fixtures were selected throughout, including a coordinating heated towel rail, to elevate the scheme with timeless elegance and a touch of warmth.

To complement the luxurious fittings, Julie introduced a palette rooted in natural, calming tones. A wall-hung vanity unit in Bordalino oak provided much-needed storage while maintaining a light, floating aesthetic. Given the need for a fully tiled floor, the clients chose soft, neutral tones that would work in harmony with the rest of the finishes.

In the shower area, green statement tiles added colour and depth, echoing the tranquillity the clients were aiming for. Julie suggested pairing these with tongue and groove panelling across the remaining walls, painted in a matching green hue. This unified base allowed the Kearney's to introduce layered shades through accessories and soft furnishings, completing the room’s natural, earthy ambience.

Luxury Bathroom Installation

Installations Surveyor Joe translated Julie’s design into precise technical requirements. The bathroom was expertly brought to life by Multi-Skilled Fitter Louis, who delivered a meticulous installation that honoured both form and function showcasing our full design and fit service offering.

The end result is a serene, luxurious bathroom retreat that caters to the whole family. With carefully considered finishes, improved spatial flow, and spa-inspired features, the space now reflects the Kearney's’ lifestyle and design preferences—offering comfort, elegance, and timeless style.
